On A Horse with no Name

P8010060We went through the desert, and came out at the majestic Pacific Ocean. Thanks to a wonderful birthday gift from my dad, Jaime and I were able to spend this weekend in San Diego. We spent the first night at the beach where I went swimming and we watched the sun set. Saturday we spent our time on the Old Town Trolley Tour. The tour gave us a beautiful view of the city and harbor. On Sunday we drove up the coast toward LA and then headed back into the desert. For more pictures check out the gallery.

Spring Break and 2nd Dr.'s appt.

P1010092I'm so happy it's spring break! Finally a chance to rest and really take care of myself. I can eat how I need to and sleep when I need to...this is the life! You could definitely convince me to job share or to go year round. These breaks are so necessary, and they always seem to come just in time. I think I'll be refreshed enough when I come back to make it through the last, long, full two months. People asked me if I was going anywhere for spring break...why? People come here for spring break. The weather is pretty much perfect right now, cool in the morning and at night, warm enough during the day for summer clothes and swimming. We took a hike today and saw many people on vacation. This time we conquered Squaw Peak and it was pretty spectacular. Wildflowers were in bloom and we saw several lizards soaking up the sun.

Next week Friday we have our second Dr.'s appointment. This time we see the actual doctor. It probably won't be as exciting as the first, no ultrasound this time. Of course, if there is any news we'll keep you updated!

Happy New Year!

P1010084A new year...five years ago, did I ever think I'd be here now? Honestly, no. But, here we are and life goes on. We had a wonderful visit home, although we didn't get to see several people that we wanted to. It was awesome to be home for Christmas and to see so much snow! It felt like we never left, then of course we did have to leave. It was harder for me to leave this time than when we moved in the first place. And let me tell ya...coming down from Flagstaff into blue sky and 60 degree weather was not as comforting as you might think. If it only gets warmer from here I don't think I'll make it!

It is good to be home, although very quiet! Dave's already been back to work, and I'm thankful I have a few more days. Time to clean, relax, read, and get mentally prepared to jump back in head first. Truthfully, I'll be glad when this school year is over, it hasn't been easy and I don't think it will get easier. That's okay though...I'm learning valuable lessons about what to do and what not to do in the future! Here's to a less stressful 2008...one can hope!
